Measure the Rear Leg Height
From: the front of the back leg, where the leg joins to the belly, right up in the pit
To: the middle toe pad.
Ideally when your pet is laying down, as shown in the diagram below. Do not pull the leg tight; leave some natural bend in knee and ankle so that the front and rear feet are in line with each other in a line parallel to the spine.
